The Kauffman Foundation recently posted an article about redefining the word "entrepreneur" to include the "makers, doers, and dreamers, who are as diverse and unique as the communities they call home and the businesses they create."

The funds raised from this Kickstarter project will go toward opening a retail fabric shop located in downtown Kent!
A location has already been found and is currently in lease negotiation but we need your help with the down payment, legal fees, store sign, cutting table, paint, etc.
The location is only a 5-minute walk from Rockwell hall right in downtown Kent!
For Evan Laisure, that goal turned into reality shortly after graduating from the Visual Communication Design program at Kent State University.
Mr. Laisure began with a simple idea and turned it into his own online shop called The Pastimes, featuring original designs on clothing, posters and glassware.
"TinyCircuits owner Ken Burns said he envisions his startup company someday listing 10,000 products on eBay, including items the company buys just to resell on the platform."
Wisr, founded in March 2016, operates 25 networks at 26 colleges and universities. Hometown clients include Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University and Oberlin College, with the startup's national footprint extending to University of Colorado Denver and Stanford University.
