To celebrate Constitution Day, Kent State University Libraries is offering a virtual screening of the documentary And She Could Be Next. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion that will include the filmmakers, Grace Lee, Marjan Safinia and Jyoti Sarda, as well as Kent State faculty members Denise Harrison, Joycelyn Harrison, Ph.D., and Janine Tiffe, Ph.D.
And She Could Be Next follows a defiant movement of women of color as they transform politics from the ground up. Filmed during the historic 2018 midterm elections, the series follows the campaign of gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. This moving documentary asks whether democracy can be preserved—and made stronger—by those most marginalized. View the film’s trailer at www.amdoc.org/watch/media/1371/.
