Student teams from NEO colleges & universities will work with Goodyear, Akron Children’s Hospital, The J.M. Smucker Company, First Energy, and 2 or 3 other companies this fall.
The Commons Akron program is open to ALL students from ALL backgrounds and is even an option for recent graduates – as it takes place on weekends and teamwork is conducted virtually with the support of program leaders and business mentors.
Participants will spend the weekend mentored by top social entrepreneurs, non-profit leaders, venture capitalists, and prominent business professionals as they vet their ideas and build them into real products – physical products, smartphone applications, websites and anything else that will innovate on the social issues we face in Cleveland.
Every year, the VentureWell E-Teams Grant Program awards over $650,000 total in grant funding to early-stage science and tech student startups who are on the path to launching innovations with a social, health, or environmental impact.
