Help us reach our extraordinary goal to fund a NEW student entrepreneur scholarship!
In honor of Marty Erbaugh, friend of LaunchNET and one of our first advisory board members, we are excited to create a scholarship in his name along with our Giving Tuesday Initiative. Marty was a trusted mentor and friend to our staff and clients. Marty was also LaunchNET's mentor of the year for 2017-2018. He is truly missed after having passed away earlier this year.
Lee McMannis has generously pledged $5,000 to match all gifts to the scholarship this month!
Your gift of $25 becomes $50; $50 becomes $100!
Also, for every 15 unique donors who give $25+ to this fund, we will receive a $500 Bonus Participation Boost from the Kent State University Foundation!
When: Tuesday, December 3, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Where: 213 Franklin Hall Why: Seven students will pitch innovative ideas such as film initiatives, virtual reality, game design and fundraising ideas. The winning students will share in a $1,000 prize, and the winning ideas will receive launch funding. Our four judges come from Akron and Kent, serving in education and business.
Congrats to client Lauren McKown & venture advisor Tabitha Messmore for their participation! From Crain's Akron Business: The Commons Akron Innovation Accelerator program is a collaborative partnership between universities, businesses and mentors. It is designed to attract students, who gain real-world experience and would perhaps decide to stay in Northeast Ohio after graduation. The program helps local companies tackle specific business-related challenges.
Recently LaunchNET and the Kent State CAVS office contributed to an event for local "vetpreneurs" along with Secretary of State Frank LaRose, State Representative Casey Weinstein, and other entrepreneurial resources in the area.
We were lucky enough to run into some LaunchNET clients there too!
